Community Services Department provides access for our residents to thousands of opportunities to stay active and connected through exceptional programs, facilities and special events. Designed to enhance the quality of life and respond to the needs of Tempe residents, programs for children, adults and retirees offer something for all ages and abilities. The Community Services Department consist of the Kid zone Enrichment Program, Recreation Services, Library Services, Arts and Culture and the Tempe Center for the Arts. The Department is dedicated to creating opportunities for all residents to thrive in our diverse and vibrant city.
Requires eight years of increasingly responsible management/administrative experience with expertise in at least one of the following public programming or areas:
Visual or performing Arts; or
Library Services; or
Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Successful completion of initial probationary period is contingent upon passing an FBI background investigation. Based on position, referred applicants may be subject to additional testing which may include pre-employment polygraph, physical and drug screening.
