Under general direction, plans, organizes, directs and evaluates administrative service division of the Department of Parks and Recreation, e.g., finance/accounting/budget, policy administration, contract management/procurement, facilities maintenance, customer service and automation; assists in short and long range strategic planning; prepares and directs the preparation of complex research to include grants, studies, analysis and summary of data and information for decision making, reports and special projects; oversees automation efforts to include installation of hardware and software and/or upgrades. Performs other work as required.
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field; five years of professional administrative experience, including three years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of administrative management; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to prepare and manage a multi-million dollar operating budget and supervise staff. Good driving record required. Must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
