Program Coordinator – Adventure Course
Coordinate the operation of The Woodlands Township Adventure Course and related programs and services. Ensures a safe visitor experience through compliance with ACCT standards and risk management practices. Collect fees, maintains equipment, coordinates marketing efforts and maintain monthly reports by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
Oversees the implementation and adherence to the standards for the Adventure Course as set forth in ANSI/ACCT 03-2016 Challenge Courses and Canopy/Zip Line Tours Standards and updates.
Develop, facilitate and evaluate the overall staff training program for the facility (ACCT Level I and II)
Coordinate 3rd party maintenance, staff training and course audits.
Coordinate and review accident and incident reports for the facility.
Turn in weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on attendance, revenue, usage, marketing effectiveness/cost, social media and cost recovery.
Develop programs related to the use of the Adventure Course.
Recommend, plan, promote, coordinate, and run all aspects of programs and special events for all age groups and the special needs population.
Prepare promotional material pertaining to facility use, fees, policies, etc.
Evaluate facility operations; administer operating policies and procedures, recommend improvements and modifications; prepare various reports on operations and activities including: facility use, participation numbers, safety reports, accident reports, and financial reports.
Assist in the development of annual budget and monitor budget for the Adventure Course.
Recruit, train, and evaluate part time, seasonal, volunteer, and contract staff.
Develop schedules and plan activities for instructional program and special events.
Conduct surveys of program participants.
Develop and monitor an ongoing program of accident prevention and general safety.
Establish rules and procedures for efficient and effective operation of the Adventure Course; monitor program compliance with local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations related to provision of an Adventure Course (ACCT Standards);
Assist with recreation programs, events and special projects as required.
Must be comfortable climbing and working at heights of up to 50 ft.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Parks and Recreation Management and over one year up to and including three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer proficiency in MS Office required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid driver's license and meet the driver safety requirements.
Obtain Course Manager Certification from ACCT (Association of Challenge Course Technology) within one year of employment
