PRCS is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to join our Parks Division. The position will be based at Claude Moore Park in Sterling, VA. Reporting to the Park Manager, top priorities for this position include the work supervision of project operations staff, coordination scheduling of maintenance projects and work orders, and performing park maintenance. If you enjoy working outdoors with a small and dedicated staff, are knowledgeable of the methods, principles, practices and techniques of grounds maintenance, and share a desire to make a difference then this could be the position you’ve been looking for.
Duties include preventative maintenance; playing field and turf care; irrigation systems maintenance; ballfield design and preparation; ensuring completion of repairs on grounds maintenance equipment such as tractors, forklifts, aerators and mowers; building maintenance; coordination and supervision of snow removal operations in assigned areas; set-up and breakdown for tournaments and special events; and providing routine administrative and clerical tasks as assigned. In addition, the Maintenance Coordinator will:
Communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and maintain effective relationships with manager, division manager, department head, and co-workers, subordinates, and the public
Have a working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
Successful candidates will understand that:
Service demands require a flexible work schedule to include weekday, evening, and weekend hours
This position is subject to call for “Essential 24-hour critical operations”
Physical effort is required, regularly working with medium-to-heavy materials and occasionally with heavy materials over 60 pounds

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and a minimum of four years related experience in grounds maintenance, field preparations, and project management, with an emphasis on turf management
Valid driver’s license
Pesticide Application License
Certification in First Aid & CPR
Previous experience supervising staff
Successful candidates will:
Submit to a criminal background, credit and DMV record checks
Preferred to have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with Passenger endorsement
Comply with the Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Program as outlined by Loudoun County’s Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Policy for Transportation Employees, to include pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Have or obtain within four months of hire, a Fertilizer Application License
Agree to an annual DMV check; have and maintain a valid driver’s license
