Under general direction, this position is engaged in management and administrative functions related to the recruitment, selection and training of volunteers and performs professional work in the development, administration, and evaluation of a wide range of special events. The incumbent reports to the Recreation Superintendent and will provide direct and indirect supervision of full time, part time and/or seasonal staff. The position directs and evaluates part-time and seasonal program staff, volunteers, contracted instructors and program participants while providing technical assistance to the Recreation Superintendent.
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Business Administration, or a related field and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in special event management or a related field, including one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work may be substituted.
Minimum of 2 years developing and/or managing program budgets
Must possess a valid Missouri Driver's License
Must possess or be able to obtain a first-aid/CPR card within 120 days of hire date.
