Yamhill County, Oregon is seeking a regular, full-time Division Manager. This position serves as the manager of Yamhill County Parks by preserving, restoring, and improving current parks and expanding the park system to meet the needs of Yamhill County residents. The position also manages the day-to-day operation of the Yamhill County Work Crew Program, which provides both in-custody inmate and out-of-custody community service workers the opportunity to perform supervised community service projects throughout Yamhill County.
The Division Manager will supervise approximately 4 Work Crew Supervisors, up to 2 Seasonal Park Rangers, and daily work crews comprised of up to 20 inmates and community service workers. Duties include oversight and management of the Parks Division, including: management and oversight of park properties; development and implementation of performance and maintenance standards, procedures and processes; development and management of the division’s budget in a manner that ensures expenditures remain within approved budget; scheduling and management of capital improvement projects; performing technical and administrative tasks related to planning, staffing, directing, controlling and evaluating the division; and training, supervising and evaluating assigned staff.
The position requires graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in Park and Recreation Administration, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies, or related field and a minimum of 2 years’ progressively responsible parks management, programming, and/or maintenance experience, or 6 years’ progressively responsible parks management and maintenance experience and 4 years of supervisory experience.
Equivalent experience and training may be substituted for the above. A valid license to drive in the state of Oregon and an acceptable driving record are also required.

Retirement - PERS (Public Employee Retirement System) contribution is 100% employer funded, which includes both contribution to PERS pension and IAP accounts (IAP contribution is 6% of salary).

Life insurance - $6,000 for employee/$2,000 for spouse and children – 100% County Paid.
Vacation/Sick Leave - Flexible Earned Time (FET) is a combination of vacation and sick leave. To start, you will earn 12.38 hours per month and future accruals increase based on years of service. After a year of service and depending on FET balance,
employees may sell-back up to 40 hours of FET per year.
