The Northern Virginia Volleyball Association (NVVA), an organization that provides volleyball opportunities for over 2,500 hundred athletes in the state of Virginia and internationally, is hiring a full-time Youth Volleyball Programs Manager. The ideal candidate is detailed oriented, process driven, tech-savvy, and passionate about volleyball and sharing the sport with others.
The NVVA Youth Volleyball Program Manager provides day-to-day oversight and management of the NVVA Boys and Girls Juniors volleyball programs and their respective staff and coordinators. In this position you will work closely with NVVA’s CEO, Director of Operations, Youth Development Coordinator, Events Coordinator as well as with the Virginia Volleyball Center (VVC) management and staff.
Manage NVVA’s club volleyball program, which consists of over 30 teams from ages 12 to 18 at varying skill levels
Recruit, select and manage over 200 coaches per year
Plan daily program curriculum and disseminate weekly schedules for all activities to staff and management and ensure that all coaches are adhering to the curriculum
Develop Club Volleyball and Youth Programs budgets for CEO approval
Maintain high levels of morale and conduct by providing mentorship and support to staff, coaches and volunteers
Proactively identify areas of concern for staff, coaches, participants and volunteers
Meet on a regular basis with Youth Development Coordinator and staff to discuss and evaluate the success of programs
Act as the point of contact for players, parents, and coaches to answer questions and resolve issues
Participate in community efforts to promote NVVA activities, its vision, and mission
Support the NVVA communications and marketing team with social media engagement and website editing needs
Serve as a floater coach as required
In collaboration with NVVA staff, inventory all supplies and necessary materials
Evening and weekend work, as well as travel, will be required in this position
Strong communication (written and verbal) skills are required
Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing or associated field.
Masters degree is a plus
Ability to manage multi-layered organization/groups
At least (5) years of volleyball coaching experience
At least three (3) years experience as an administrator, or manager of youth sports (preferably volleyball) at the club, high school or collegiate level
Must have or be willing to obtain IMPACT certification, maintain USAV membership in good standing, and maintain a biannual USAV background check
Must be technology-driven and be familiar with all basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Google and etc.
Great leader with a desire to share knowledge
Engaged and capable of managing multiple social media outlets
Valid driver’s license
Authorized to work in the United States
Additional Salary Information: Salary commensurate with experience.
