The Morton Park District is seeking a qualified individual to fill its Business Manager position. This individual will oversee all District financial responsibilities, human resources duties, and supervise the online software used for managing activities within the District.
The Business Manager acts as the Treasurer to the Board and creates and maintains all financial reports and records as directed by the Executive Director and the Board of Commissioners.
Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director, the Business Manager:
Reconciles and balances the District’s accounts monthly.
Prepares all monthly financial reports and assists the Executive Director with all reports pertaining to monthly Board meetings.
Tracks and processes all revenues and expenditures of the District.
Assists the Executive Director with all record keeping aspects of the District budget, as well as, all other areas of record keeping.
Inputs and maintains all official employee records.
Processes and keeps records of all District payroll including all taxes, retirement, direct deposit, insurance and vehicle use.
Oversees and the District bank accounts, District-issued credit cards, and processes transfers as needed.
Is proficient in all aspects of RecDesk. Creates all programs within the RecDesk software and performs all other assigned duties as needed.
Oversees and processes all credit card payments to the District.
Processes all refunds and reimbursements of the District.
Processes all daily cash deposits of the District.
Processes all payments to independent contractors.
Processes all incoming tax revenue checks and distributes them accordingly to appropriate funds.
Issues all start-up cash for District facilities and programs.
Administers and documents all aspects of the District’s petty cash.
Coordinates the annual audit of the District, as well as, quarterly reports as required by law.
Inputs all information pertaining to the annual District budget and rolls over the budget, as well as, starting each new fiscal year.
Maintains the District’s security deposit box.
Assists the Administrative Secretary when necessary.
Assists the Superintendent of Recreation in preparation the Summer Program Guide and in other aspects when necessary.
Assists the Executive Director in other aspects (not listed) when necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director or the Board.
Qualifications – Graduation from a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, finance or another related field.
Experience – Preferably 3-5 years experience, in a position of financial responsibility.
Knowledge and Personal – Basic knowledge in aspects of public accounting. Proficient with all aspects of Microsoft Office, public accounting software and recreation software. Professional appearance, pleasing personality, and ability to deal effectively with fellow employees and the public.

About Morton Park District
The Morton Park District is located in Central Illinois, 10 miles East of Peoria, IL and 30 miles West of Bloomington/Normal, IL. The Mission of the Morton Park District is to provide clean, safe, family-friendly parks, facilities and programs to the community of Morton, IL. The District is administered by the elected Park Board of Commissioners. The Morton Park District manages over 300 acres of park properties including a 50 acre outdoor soccer complex, a 10 field baseball complex, a four field softball complex, 2 champion disc golf courses, an outdoor aquatic facility, an indoor recreation center which contains an indoor soccer complex, as well as multiple other open spaces. There are multiple large-scale special events as well as tournaments that are hosted on Park District property each year. The Morton Park District is also one of the founding members of the Heart of Illinois Special Recreation Association which provides recreation opportunities to individuals with disabilities. The Morton Park District has an operating budget of approximately $5 million/year, and employs 8 full-time employees and 200 part-time/seasonal employees.
