Deputy Director: Caroline County Department of Recreation and Parks
The Department: Caroline County Department of Recreation and Parks is responsible for the development, delivery and management of a variety of recreation programs and public facilities within Caroline County. Department Staff: Includes a Department Head appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, nine merit-based staff (including the Deputy Director position), two grant-supported program managers, and 65-85 part-time staff for the delivery of comprehensive summer and afterschool services, skill-specific community-based recreation programming and park maintenance operations.

About the Job: Responsibilities include -1) Supervision of mid-level managers; 2) Project management related to capital projects and park system planning, and grant -funded community partnerships associated with comprehensive youth development programs; 3) Fiscal planning and accountability for annual budget, multi-year projects and special events including fiscal performance audits and general business operations management; 4) Maintain partnerships, communications and community outreach with key stakeholders including allied agencies, 5) Oversight of department public relations and marketing communications strategy to support mission and operations. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in either Recreation/Parks, Public Administration, Business Administration or Education. 4 years of experience required in administration and management of recreation and parks programs and at least 5 years of management experience.
Salary: $61,532 to $77,986, depending upon experience
