The Center Director is responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the center, including but not limited to: Finance, Corporate Compliance, Legal, Contracts, HR, Risk Management, Food Services, and other duties as assigned.
Direct activities in assigned venues and business units to optimize operational efficiency: 1) Develop & implement budgets, 2) Establish policies and procedures for cash handling, 3) Evaluate and direct venue/business to ensure compliance with TSA policy and the RJKCCC mission and to optimize financial, membership and service performance.
Oversee the preparation and implementation of the Center’s budget. Prepare and submit monthly budget reports.
Assist the Corps Officers to ensure compliance with TSA mission, policies and procedures, and the RJKCCC mission to optimize financial, membership, program, ministry and service performance.
Handle legal, insurance, and property matters related to the safe operation of the RJKCCC. In conjunction with Divisional Headquarters.
Meet regularly with the Department Managers to coordinate business issues with sound fiscal and budgetary requirements.
Assist with all matters relating to finance, including budgets, requisitions, proposals for purchase, and be prepared to report on expenditures and other fiscal related matters concerning the business aspects of the Center.
Assist the Corps Officers and Management Staff with the process of accumulating and preparing financial statements, grant proposals and service and activities statistics as required by The Salvation Army reporting procedures.
Interact professionally with individuals and groups having diverse backgrounds.
Serve as community liaison between the Center and community groups, related specifically to the business interest of the RJKCCC.
Assist in providing staff support to related Advisory Board Committees as assigned by the Corps Officers.
Provide leadership and oversight to the day-to-day operational activities throughout the Kroc Center developing a culture of excellence, exemplary service, and cleanliness.
Provide leadership in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities to integrate arts, recreation, social services, educational programs, and the ministry of The Salvation Army; identify resource needs; recommend and implement policies and procedures.
Provide direct supervision in all areas to include: 1)Develop & implement budgets, 2) Hiring, discipline, evaluation motivation, and termination of management staff, 3) Implement & enforce risk management, facility safety, Child Safety, and maintenance policies, 4) Establish work priorities, timeliness & methods, 5)Evaluate and direct venue to ensure compliance with TSA policy and the RJKCCC mission and to optimize financial & service performance, 6) Work in the development of operational manuals and policies and procedures for the Kroc Center.
Work closely with the Marketing Manager to coordinate operational issues with marketing strategies, programs, and events with focus on membership sales and outreach.
Directly supervise the Hospitality Manager to ensure maximization of facility use for rental and event income.
Provide direct supervision to the Program Coordinator to insure superior quality program offerings for all membership categories.
Supervise the Office Manager and provide support for critical HR, Volunteer, & PTM issues.
Meet regularly with the Facility Manager and RJKCCC Corps Officers to participate in setting priorities and recommendations for facility maintenance including replacement program.
Meet regularly with the RJKCCC Corps Officers to review operational issues with sound fiscal and budgetary requirements. This includes: 1) Develop long-term financial plans, 2) Direct the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies, 3) Direct the monitoring of and approve expenditures, 4) Direct and implement adjustments as necessary, 5) Direct capital improvement plan.
Ensure the shared facility resources are allocated and properly maintained in accordance with Center objectives.
Meet regularly with the Leadership Team to discuss the shared facility resources, goals, budget and vision, and provide weekly updates to Corps Officers.
Respond to issues in a proactive manner by maintaining effective communications throughout the Center, with the public, officials, and TSA officers and employees.
Follow and ensure adherence to TSA policies and procedures.
May be required to work flexible schedule including weekends and evenings. This position will serve as an evening or weekend manager for the entire facility on a rotating schedule.
Advanced degree required in Recreation & Leisure Administration, Public Administration, Business, Education or related field.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Minimum five years of experience directing operations for recreation, athletic, and entertainment facilities of similar size and type to the Phoenix Kroc Center.
Minimum of seven years of progressive experience supervising and managing multiple task professional staff.
Possess demonstrated ability to develop and administer large, complex and multi-faceted facility budgets.
Must be self-motivated with the flexibility to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment that is customer service driven and outcome oriented.
Must be a person of high integrity.
Have a philosophy of education and child development which is consistent with that of The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center.
Possess demonstrated ability to develop and administer large, complex and multi-faceted budgets with a thorough understanding of cost-recovery and sustainable budget strategies.
Leadership skills, problem solving capabilities, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times while interacting with Kroc employees, guests, and the general public.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to carry out multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.

Valid Arizona driver’s license and insured transportation.
Current First Aid, CPR and AED required.
Required to pass a background check.
