San Mateo County Parks Department is seeking individuals to assist Park Rangers with seasonal facility maintenance, including cleaning restrooms and collecting garbage; resource management; visitor services; gatehouse duties; and trail maintenance. The ideal candidate will have the ability to learn new skills, the ability to follow directions, and a strong commitment to provide exemplary customer service to park visitors.
Along with other park locations, there is an immediate opening for a Park Aide at the Coyote Point Marina. In addition to performing regular park maintenance, the Park Aide post at Coyote Point Marina is distinct from other Park Aide posts as the individual will:
Work on and around docks and boats
Train in rescue boat operations as a deckhand
Interact with a community of long-term Coyote Point Marina tenants (boat owners)
Ideally be familiar with the use of hand tools, power tools and gardening equipment
Possess an interest in boating or sailing
Be outgoing and customer-oriented
Have a desire to provide exceptional customer service to our tenants
This position requires driving to different park locations and handling power-driven tools and machines. Candidates selected for this position must have a valid California driver's license or equivalent and must be at least 18 years of age at the date of hire due to Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) restrictions.
