Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. The successful applicant will become part of our team as we build a Metropolitan Research University of Distinction. The individual in this position is responsible to assist the Boise State Sports Performance, Health and Wellness Staff in providing Sports Medicine/Athletic Training Services to the Boise State University Intercollegiate Athletic Program. The incumbent shall have a strong working knowledge and understanding of all NCAA rules and regulations regarding compliance issues. Any violation of a conference or NCAA regulation, as well as those policies of the University, could cause dismissal of a participant or staff member, as well as, create negative publicity and/or conference or NCAA standings to the program and institution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide emergency medical coverage and athletic training services including injury prevention, management, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation strategies for football with all home and away competitions and practices.
Maintain records concerning athletic injuries, their etiology, treatment, and follow-up treatment.
Assist in oversight of graduate assistant and student athletic trainers.
Supervise students in an accredited education program during clinical rotations regarding athletic training services provided in a Division I college setting.
Coordinate physician and medical staff referrals for injured athletes.
Be responsible for maintaining NCAA, Mountain West Conference and Boise State rules Compliance.
This position will be required to work nights and weekends and travel as necessary.

Minimum Qualification (Including Certificates and Licenses)
One (1) year of experience in similar type of work
Certification by the NATABOC & State of Idaho Licensure
CPR and First Aid certifications
Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations regarding compliance issues
Experience in the following areas:
Injury evaluation and treatment
HIPPA policies and regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Master’s degree in Athletic Training or other related field
Three (3) years of experience beyond undergraduate work
