The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department's Mission is to provide and protect outstanding natural, scenic, cultural, historic and recreational sites for the enjoyment and education of present and future generations.
There is currently one (1)permanent, full-time vacancy.
This is a Management Service position that exercises supervisory authority over assigned staff.
This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.
UNDERFILL OPTION:The goal of this recruitment is to fill the position at the Park Manager 2 level; however, we encourage candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for Park Manager 1 (listed below), to apply. We will consider underfilling the position until the selected candidate meets the minimum qualifications for the Park Manager 2 classification, at which time they will be eligible for reclassification to the higher level. Underfill training will not extend beyond two years.

Successful candidate will be required to live in the Emigrant Springs Park residence as a condition of employment.

What you will do: The Park Manager 2 position at Blue Mountain Management Unit is responsible to manage a moderately complex park management unit by supervising staff who will carry out the maintenance and operations tasks, interpretation and recreation programs, resource protection work and administrative requirements of the park management unit.

Park Manager 2 Minimum Qualifications: Park Manager 2 Salary: $4568 - $6740 (monthly)
A Bachelor's degree in Park and Recreation Administration, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies or a related field and 1 year of experience as a Park Manager or equivalent natural resource manager; - OR -
Four years of experience as a Park Manager or equivalent natural resource manager.
Underfill Option - Park Manager 1 Minimum Qualifications: Park Manager 1 Salary: $4154 - $6117 (monthly)
Two years of lead work experience in park operations and maintenance. - OR -
An Associate's degree in Park and Recreation Administration or Natural Resource Management or Environmental Studies and 6 months of lead work experience in park operations and maintenance.
NOTE: A higher level degree may substitute for the Associate's degree. There is no substitute for the 6 months experience.
