An employee in this class will plan, develop and teach a variety of engaging environmental and nature-focused classes and programs for children, adults and families during after-school hours and/or on weekends.
Ability to teach multiple formats of classes to accommodate various ages and skill levels. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively with minimal supervision. Ability to travel and teach at various Town facilities as assigned. Experience in developing and leading environmental, science and/or outdoor adventure programs in formal and non-formal outdoor, classroom, camp or similar setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to operate various software programs. Bilingual is a plus.
Monday - Saturday less than 20 hours a week as needed.
This is an intermittent position without benefits.
Minimum of Associate’s Degree in education, natural sciences, outdoor education or closely related field. Minimum of 2 years experience in teaching/working in nature/outdoor education or similar setting.
