Dakota State University is seeking applicants for an Assistant Athletic Director. The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for supporting the Athletic Director in all athletic functions, provide oversight and complete of a variety of specific job duties. The primary area of responsibility will consist of fundraising and electronic marketing of season tickets, Trojan Athletic Club memberships and business marketing opportunities. Other duties will include Title IX Compliance, Champions of Character program administration, NAIA Certification and Eligibility and event management. The DSU Athletic Department also hosts two NAIA National Championships that the Assistant Athletic Director will be directly involved with.
1. Assist in fundraising and revenue development 2. Assist in event administration 3. Provide maintenance and growth opportunities for community and alumni involvement and partnerships 4. Maintain appropriate athletic department policies, procedures, and practices, and ensure consistency with all University policies, Board of Regents and other regulations that govern the University, NAIA rules and certification requirements, and all state and federal laws, including Title IX 5. Ensuring an environment that promotes student-athlete health and welfare and a commitment to strong academic values 6. Providing continual leadership to sustain a strong commitment to an inclusive environment and diversity and that serves the needs of student-athletes, coaches, staff, and the public
The successful applicant will have credentials that reflect the skills, abilities and experiences that encompass the following:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalency with emphasis in Athletic Administration, Marketing or other related fields 2. Demonstrated experience with fundraising in an athletic setting or relevant experience is preferred 3. Ability to identify and cultivate athletic giving for the institution 4. Knowledge of social media and marketing techniques 5. Ability to establish and build relationships with a wide range of constituents 6. Ability to communicate orally and in writing persuasively 7. Knowledge of Title IX regulations 8. Ability to recruit and motivate volunteer workforce 9. Ability to demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills

1. Organized, enthusiastic, self-driven individual 2. Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work independently 3. High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information 4. Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines 5. Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed 6. Experience working with student athletes for certification and eligibility regulations 7. Experience with Administrative reporting needs in areas including but not limited to EADA reports and Champions of Character scorecards
