POSITION DESCRIPTION: Full-time professional exempt staff position with full benefits. The Assistant Director for Intramural Sports has responsibilities developing and administering a comprehensive program of intramural sport activities designed to meet the diverse needs of the university community. Specific responsibilities include managing the operation and maintenance of the Intramural Sports Office, providing direction and support for one full-time Intramural Sports Coordinator, hiring, training, and supervising student sport supervisors and Intramural Program Assistants, ensuring compliance with program and risk management policies, and developing an annual calendar of individual, dual, team, and special intramural tournaments, events, and activities designed to accommodate a wide variety of skill levels..
START DATE: July 2, 2018, preferred.
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience, the range is $64,000 - $70,000
BENEFITS: 22 days annual leave, 14 paid holidays, 3 days personal leave, 15 days sick leave; University contributions to health insurance and retirement plans; tuition remission.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have, as a minimum: Master’s degree in recreation, sports administration, student personnel administration, or related field and 3 years of professional experience administering collegiate or community recreational sports programs OR a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience in the field. Candidates must also have experience scheduling and administering sport tournaments, experience officiating at least two sports, demonstrated supervisory skills, and strong communication and customer service skills. Preferred: Experience training sports officials, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR Instructor certification, experience using IMLeagues or other sport scheduling software/web-based applications.
