The Tigard Tualatin Aquatic District is accepting applications for the Aquatic Director position. This position is responsible for the daily operations and management of the Tigard Pool and the Tualatin Pool.
Essential Duties Include:
Provides strategic support and input to the design and improvement of the District and its services; responsible for carrying out strategic initiatives. Assists with the preparation of short- and long- term plans in support of District mission, vision, and goals.
Manages the day-to-day District budget and provides input and direction to the budget planning process.
Responsible for training, personal and professional development, encouragement and motivation of employees to encourage and support teamwork. Models and maintains high standards and performance expectations.
Responsible for employee supervision, including recruitment, selection, orientation, scheduling, evaluation, discipline, and in holding staff accountable.
Maintains strong customer service relationships with customers, District employees, community members, and other constituencies.
Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with business and industry partners, agencies, community organizations and/or education institutions. Monitors compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations, accrediting commissions, licensing requirements, and Board Policies and Procedures.
Serves as the Certified Pool Operator
Bachelor’s degree in health, physical education or related field
Five years of experience coordinating/coaching athletics, aquatics and /or recreational program(s)
Two years of supervisory experience
Current drivers license, insurance, and access to a reliable automobile during work hours for transportation between facilities
Certifications for Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and Lifeguarding and obtain/maintain current instructor certifications in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instruction (WSI)
Knowledge of technical aspects of aquatic facilities operations, maintenance and pool operation and sanitation

Located outside of Portland, Oregon, The Tigard-Tualatin Aquatic District is a tax base supported park district with two public swimming pools located next to the two Tigard-Tualatin School District high schools.
Tigard Swim Center is a 6 lane 25yd. pool opened in 1969 and maintained to a high standard. The Tualatin Swim Center is an 8 lane 25yd. pool opened in 1998 also well maintained.
