The primary responsibilities of the Aquatics Director position is to implement and lead a comprehensive swim lesson program, the TITANS Swim Academy, as well as oversee all other TAC Programs (lifeguard certification classes, birthday parties, summer swim team and private lessons). This position will oversee and manage two (2) full-time positions, the TAC Programs Manager and TAC Operations Manager. Experience with budget management, program development and employee management is highly preferred. This position will require some work on weekends and evenings as needed.
Specific Job Responsibilities
Lead the TITANS Swim Academy lesson program and TAC programs.
Develop, implement, track and control the annual budget for TITANS Swim Academy, TAC programs and staffing.
Provide community outreach and marketing for TITANS Swim Academy and TAC programs.
Oversee and manage Programs Manager (a FT position focusing on the daily operations of TITANS Swim Academy and TAC Programs)
Oversee and manage Operations Manager (a FT position focusing on the daily operations of Supervisor, Lifeguard, Custodial and Meet Timer staffing & Facility tasks)
Analyze reporting and data to recognize growth and retention opportunities within the TITANS Swim Academy.
Conduct and lead in-service training for lifeguard supervisors, program instructors and lifeguards.
Fundraise for USA Swimming Make-A-Splash program and provide program reporting.
Oversee all staff communications.
Facility Opening and Closing decision making.
Closely monitor pool maintenance and report issues to Triangle Aquatics, LLC and/or TAC Facility Director.
Assist with facility event supervision when needed.
Maintain positive relations with participants, parents, members and staff.
Serve as a role model to promote and demonstrate professional demeanor.
Collaborate and work effectively with all departments (TITANS Swim Team, Finance, Events & Marketing and Management) to achieve desired results
Experience and Requirements:
8+ years of experience in Aquatics.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing a large aquatic lesson program.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in staff management and leadership.
Current CPR for Professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid certifications required.
Current Lifeguard Certification required.
Lifeguard Instructor Certification preferred.
Bachelor’s degree, Advanced degree a plus. Preferred degree in Sports Management, Parks and Recreation Management or related field of study.
