We have an immediate opening for a part time Assistant Manager at the Round Hill Aquatics Center located in Round Hill, VA. The Round Hill Aquatics Center is the only indoor pool facility in western Loudoun and serves the community needs year round. As an Assistant Manager you will assist with the oversight and general supervision of aquatics center patrons and renters, enforcement of aquatics center rules and regulations and manage staff and center operations in the absence of the Aquatics Manager. Your management skills will be utilized in performing daily site safety checks, pool inspections, maintenance and minor repairs as well as the periodic review, evaluation and updating of the pool emergency procedures and staff manual. Exercise your supervisory skills while recruiting, hiring, training and certifying qualified temporary pool staff. In addition, you will assist with scheduling, group visits and aquatics instruction. Put your creativity and marketing skills to the test designing and promoting programs, activities and special events through flyers, press releases and other marketing methods. With a customer service focus you will provide high quality service and ensure all staff respond to customer concerns, which includes effectively utilizing automated systems, including registration software. Must be willing to work a very flexible work schedule, which includes early mornings, days, evenings and weekends to oversee facility operations.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Leisure Services or related field and 2 years job related work experience. Some supervisory experience strongly preferred. Membership in the VRPS professional organization is preferred. Certification as a Certified Leisure Professional (CLP) is desired. First Aid and CPR certifications required. Must have Pool Operators Certification or must obtain within 45 days of hire. First Aid Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor and WSI Instructor certifications required within 1 year of hire. Valid Driver’s License required. Criminal background, Child Protective Services (CPS), credit check and DMV checks required.
