We are recruiting candidates for a Park Planner I position with Lincoln Parks and Recreation. This is a new position in the Planning and Construction Section intended to support existing staff with projects serving the increased demand for recreational opportunities (open space, trails, etc.) associated with community growth. We are seeking a team-oriented person with passion and vision for parks, trails and serving the community.
Lincoln Parks and Recreation manages over 6,000 acres of parks and natural land, 133 miles of trails, nine outdoor pools, five golf courses, 110,000 public trees, public display gardens, plazas, public art and fountains. The Planning and Construction Section consists of a group of seven people with a diverse set of experience/skills in park and trail planning, park improvements and playground design, landscape architecture, horticulture, construction management, GIS and asset management. This team often works with other governmental agencies/departments and the Lincoln Parks Foundation in fund development activities.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with major coursework in landscape architecture, architecture, urban planning/design, horticulture or civil engineering; or equivalent.
