Hours: Approximately 20-30 hours per week with additional hours available upon request performing various aquatics duties, up to a maximum of 40 hours per week.
Position Dates: May 1, 2018 – August 10, 2018
This position oversees the swim lesson program at Midwest Pool Management facilities in and around the Kansas City metro. The Swim Lesson Coordinator is responsible for supervising daily operations of lessons, create and implement swim instructor training, and provide information to the public about the program. Swim lessons are conducted throughout the week at multiple facilities.
Oversees instructors at multiple pools for upcoming swim lesson classes and ensures appropriate student to instructor ratio.
Leads and mentors staff during day to day operations, providing encouraging feedback to improve skills and teaching techniques.
Document, suggest, and assist with disciplinary actions for aquatic staff.
Develops staff training and class lesson plans.
Communicate effectively with swim instructors, pool management and office staff.
Provides feedback and suggests improvements in operations, training, staffing, policies and procedures, and other areas.
Plans ahead for upcoming sessions to ensure minimal disruptions to services.
Experience working with students with different ages, skill levels, and varying physical and emotional abilities.
Ability to effectively lead a team.
Works well with other staff members and the public.
