The City of Beloit has an exciting full time opportunity available in the Parks and Recreation for a Recreation Coordinator.
The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for developing, organizing, planning and implementing assigned recreation and athletic programs provided by the City. This position assists with the overall management of recreational facilities that support these programs, including, but not limited to Edwards Ice Arena, municipal pools, Rotary River Center, and the concession operations at the Riverside Park Lagoon. Duties include hiring, training and evaluating assigned seasonal personnel. This position supervises, reviews and evaluates City’s recreation programs, implements changes as warranted and assists in the development of the annual budget process. The Recreation Coordinator is also responsible for marketing information as related to recreational programs and participates in the revolving On-Call duty
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation Administration or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience. A valid driver’s license is required. Prefer a candidate with certification in Parks and Recreation Profession as well as First Aid and CPR. Proven knowledge of the objectives and principles of public recreation including an understanding of diverse activities which constitute a community recreation program required. Experience in facility management, operational procedures, recreation facilities and equipment a must. This is a great opportunity for someone who has the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects and work assignments. Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft products required.
