NOVA Parks has a full-time opening for a GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT II at Pohick Bay Golf Course, Lorton, VA. Hiring Salary Range: $55,597.73 - $61,004.95. Excellent Benefits.
The GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT II is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of a maintenance program for golf course grounds. Work is performed under the general direction of the Park Manager with considerable latitude for independent judgment and action. The Golf Course Superintendent II will supervise the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent I and golf course maintenance workers. Annual performance goals will be set for the Golf Course Superintendent II.
Manage maintenance of grounds;
Manage maintenance of equipment;
Develop and manage budget;
Perform administrative duties.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (minimum)
Education: Graduation from an accredited college/university with a bachelor’s degree in turf management, agronomy, or closely related field.
Physical: Non-manual and manual work with strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions in office and outdoor settings; will perform heavy manual labor in all weather conditions, lift items at or greater than 80 pounds, climb ladders, use tools, and operate equipment.
Experience: Three years of extensive experience as an assistant golf course superintendent; or any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
