The role of Executive Director is to provide leadership and management of the DC Ranch Community Council, which serves the community’s homeowners, residents, commercial entities and businesses, strategic partners and other DC Ranch stakeholders. The Executive Director provides energy and inspiration that will shape the community and it’s highly respected brand. The Executive Director actively promotes DC Ranch’s community values, vision and mission.
The Executive Director must be articulate, structured and enthusiastic-- encouraging collaboration and consensus building among DC Ranch’s three governing entities and inspiring residents to pursue common interests in recreational, social, service and cultural endeavors while building community spirit. The Executive Director oversees a team that provides financial operations, resident programming, community amenities management, communications initiatives and DC Ranch Community Council governance operations.
The Executive Director will foster a strong sense of community by building effective internal and external relationships, utilizing their experience for strategic planning initiatives, actively promoting the brand to future home buyers and ensuring DC Ranch’s position is heard on larger-scale public policy issues.
The DC Ranch Community Council Executive Director’s areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of DC Ranch governing documents and the role and responsibilities of the three governing entities.
Work in partnership with the Executive Director of the Ranch Association and the Senior Design Review Manager of the Covenant Commission to promote a governance style based on inclusiveness, mutual respect, consensus-building and responsiveness to changing needs and opportunities.
In partnership with all entities and the Board of Directors, ensure that decisions reflect the DC Ranch brand and community activities adhere to the DC Ranch community values
Develop and implement innovative community-building programs and initiatives designed to help DC Ranch become a strong, active, caring community.
Develop and implement marketing plans to enhance the DC Ranch brand and attract future home buyers
Assist in the cultivation of positive, mutually beneficial relationships between DC Ranch and the community at large, including local governmental entities, school district personnel, social and civic groups, and other entities and organizations
Oversee all aspects of Community Council operations and community building programs at DC Ranch
Direct supervision of Financial Operations Director, Facilities and Recreation Director, Community Engagement Director, Public Affairs Director, and the Executive Assistant/HR Administrator
Encourage collaborative efforts with residents, DC Ranch commercial entities, community groups, private agencies, and businesses to facilitate and develop programs, form partnerships, clarify procedures, identify needs, and promote existing programs.
Plan and develop budgets for Community Council operations, including the collection and analysis of supporting data, such as customer and satisfaction surveys, event statistics, etc.

Conscientious and dependable work ethic, and attention to detail
Experience working with community or nonprofit organizations preferred
High level financial management experience
Experience working for a board of directors
Real Estate experience preferred
Experience working with municipal government and/or public agencies helpful
Background in marketing, communications and/or public relations helpful
At least five years experience in supervising the work of professional staff
Experience working with volunteers (clubs, committees, neighborhood groups, etc.)
