The Nisqually Hydroelectric Project located near La Grande, WA is accepting applications for a Park Supervisor. The Park Supervisor supervises the maintenance of the Alder Lake Park system including 211 campsites, beach with day use picnic areas, boat launch and moorage facilities, restroom facilities, shop/office complex, domestic water system and sewer systems. This position is responsible for the training of personnel associated with the operation and maintenance of the park system including administration and development of visitor services and enforcement of park rules and regulations. This position also supervises operation of the park including developing staff schedules, reservation processing, collection of fees, interacting with the public, ensuring facilities are clean and presentable, monitoring domestic water and sewer systems, and ensuring safe and effective park operations. This position is required to live on site in City provided housing.
Tacoma Power's Alder Lake Park offers expansive campgrounds and access to Alder Lake (formed by Alder Dam) in Pierce County, Washington. Alder Dam forms seven-mile-long Alder Lake. With 28 miles of shoreline and 3,065 acres of reservoir area at maximum elevation, Alder Lake is an inviting spot for boaters, water skiers, anglers and picnickers.
•Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by a two-year college degree in outdoor recreation, park management, forestry recreation or closely related field and one year supervisory experience in park management;
OR •Graduation from high school or equivalent and three years of experience in park operations management in a responsible position.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Valid driver's license at time of appointment with maintenance thereafter. A Group II waste water treatment plant operator's certificate will need to be acquired and maintained. A domestic water operator's certificate may also be required.
