Join Us! [We’re excited to meet you.] You are a leader. You are innovative. A pioneer. You like to inspire, mentor, and collaborate to foster strong relationships working toward the same greatest good.
We’re looking for a rare breed to join the City of Boise as Zoo Boise Director and Executive Director of Friends of Zoo Boise, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports Zoo Boise, someone who wants to roll up their sleeves and lead the organization in a wide variety of roles.
The City of Boise offers a unique opportunity to carry an important mission of conservation forward: Zoo Boise has recently completed an $8.9 million capital campaign to highlight wildlife conservation in Mozambique. The new Zoo Boise Director will jump in, ready to lead the construction phase of a new 2.5 acre Gorongosa National Park exhibit, expanding the zoo’s footprint and contributing to Zoo Boise’s reputation as one of the leaders in conservation partnerships. Located in the heart of Boise’s downtown parks and greenbelt system, Zoo Boise was accredited for the fourth time in September 2017 by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums.
#IAmBoise [Living here is pretty awesome.] Boise is many things. Urban and outdoorsy. Wild and relaxing. Friendly and unforgettable. Get out and recreate! Enjoy our Ridge to Rivers trail system, Greenbelt riverfront pathways, world class Rhodes Skate Park, and new Whitewater Park. Bogus Basin Ski Area is also just minutes from Downtown.
Boise Parks & Recreation seeks to provide the citizens of Boise with fun, exciting and healthy activities in our community. Whether you're interested in a walk along the Greenbelt, playing softball, creating art, taking a hike in the Foothills, picnicking, dancing or visiting Zoo Boise, the Boise Parks & Recreation Department has an activity for everyone!
