Under the direction of the Aquatics Managers, the Assistant Aquatics Managers will assists in the daily facility operations and maintenance of Liberty Lagoon Water Park and of various aquatics programs and ensures the safety of the staff and guests.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Disseminates positive and informative responses to public inquiries regarding programs, facilities, policies, procedures and staff complaints.
Assist and coordinates the day to day operation including but not limited to: recruitment, training, scheduling, certification, and performance of employees.
Assist with facility programming information development and transmission, meeting deadlines and brochure development for programs and special events.
Assists with development, implementation of aquatics programs for the citizens of this parish.
Participates in and teaches water certification training and swimming lessons for all ages.
Assist with cleanliness, climate control, and chemistry and related maintenance, in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and guidelines for the operation of public swimming pools.
Represents the organization at various community and business meetings, promotes existing and new programs and /or policies.
Develops and maintains records of operational facilities usage; monitors and maintains inventories of pool equipment and supplies.
Working knowledge of operating a concessions stand, ordering and cooking.
Secondary Job Duties:
Acts in absence of the Aquatics Manager
Skills in program planning and development.
Budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management and procedures.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and 2-year college degree
Certification(s): Certified Lifeguard & Certified Lifeguard Instructor; Water Safety Instructor Certification, First Aid & CPR certification; Certified Pool Operator to be obtained within one year.
License(s): Valid LA driver's license.
Other: Minimum three (3) years working in aquatic programming, training and facility management, concessions operations or related experience.
Considerable knowledge of aquatics and recreation philosophy, planning and administration.
Considerable knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used in a parish wide aquatics and recreation programs.
Ability to supervise and train lifeguards at several facilities, develop and implement various aquatic programs.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, and the public.
Basic mathematical skills to maintain revenue and expenses concerning aquatics programs.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Assist outdoor recreation with water and related programming, special events and outdoor activities.
General knowledge of BREC rules and regulations for properties and activities.
