The City of Stockton is seeking to fill a Recreation Supervisor position in the Community Services Department. Under direction, incumbents in this job class plan, organize, and supervise comprehensive recreation programs and services for a City recreation center and/or plan, organize, and implement specialized recreation programs.
The Recreation Division is seeking a committed and experienced recreation professional. The ideal candidate is an effective leader with advanced knowledge of recreation programming, budgeting, and implementing a variety of recreation services and activities who can demonstrate creative problem solving combined with excellent customer service. The incumbent will work Mondays through Fridays, 8:00am to 5:00pm., with occasional evenings or weekends.
Incumbents currently work a City of Stockton 9/80 schedule: 7:30am to 5:30pm Mondays through Thursdays; 8:00am to 5:00pm Fridays, with alternating Fridays off. The schedule may be subject to change. May be required to work additional hours and/or weekends to provide operational support.
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation, public or business administration, or a closely related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience which has included recreation program planning and implementation and/or recreation facility supervision. Additional recreation program leadership may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years.
