The Maryland- National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George's County, Parks & Recreation, Sports, Health, and Wellness Division is seeking an Assistant Aquatic Facility Manager. This position provides facility management, programmatic, and supervisory support to Rollingcrest-Chillum Splash Pool within the Sports, Health, and Wellness Division. This position will monitor and assist with the oversight of day-to-day operations for a year-round and seasonal aquatic facility.
EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT DUTIES:
Year-Round & Seasonal Aquatic Facility Management Supervise and train seasonal/intermittent employees Assists with the development of programs, maintenance & operational procedures for assigned facilities Coordinate general/seasonal maintenance for assigned facilities Coordinate in-service training and safety auditing program for assigned facilities Coordinate lifeguarding/CPR/pool operator/instructor certifications and classes Assists in the process to pay bills/invoices Assists with budget control and management Oversee swim lesson program coordination for assigned facilities Communicate with various cross-functional teams within assigned complex and in other divisions to properly administer various aquatics-related programs and procedures Assists with office administration and organization Assists with preparing quarterly/annual budget projections Provides guidance to subordinate staff on employee-related matters (i.e. disciplinary, training, recruitment and selection, etc...) Research and evaluate internal and external aquatics programming, utilizing this information to develop new initiatives or to restructure current programs Community Outreach, Marketing & Program Development targeting youth & teen programs & special Events Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Other duties and special projects, as assigned
1. Bachelor's degree or four years experience in one of the following fields: parks, recreation, education, business administration, physical education, communication, leisure services, or in area of required specialty; and
2. Two years of responsible professional experience working in a facility related to parks, recreation, education, business administration, health education, physical education, communication, leisure services, or area of required specialty; or
3. An equivalent combination of education and experience;
4. A valid driver's license or ability to acquire one; and
5. A valid operating license (e.g., county pool operator's, child care license) as appropriate.
