The City of Dodge City, KS is seeking qualified applicants for a Director of Parks and Facilities. The City is seeking to replace this long held position due to a retirement in late December, 2017. The job duties of this position include overseeing and directing the management of multiple City operations, buildings, and grounds including: Parks, Cemetery, Forestry, Zoo, Building Maintenance, Golf Course, Athletic Field Maintenance and Tournament programs, Long Branch Lagoon Water Park, and Public Transportation. Position is responsible for helping establish a vision and direction for the overall operations of parks and facilities and insure progress is being made towards established goals. Position reports directly to the City Manager. Position also meets with advisory boards and public groups, prepares annual budgets for all operations and monitors performance; researches and implements projects and improvements; and serves as departmental liaison to the general public.
Starting salary range for this exempt position is $67,000 - $112,603 annually, DOQ, plus full City benefit package. Benefits include single or family health insurance and KPERS retirement system, paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Start date for this position will be January 2, 2018.

Bachelor’s degree in Park Management, Recreation Management, Sports Administration, or related field required; and five (5) year’s experience in public sector related to park & recreation management operations, or equivalent education/experience to qualify for position. A valid Kansas driver’s license with good driving record required.
