This particular position will be assigned to Recreation Information Technology. Incumbent will be assigned responsibilities designed to provide exposure to the functional activities of the department. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, high level of integrity and honesty. Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends, must be attentive to detail and accurate in record keeping and possess an ability to work with a diverse constituency including students, parents, coaches, faculty, staff administrators and outside contacts. Classification established to provide entry level opportunities for recent college/university graduates. Incumbents may work throughout various areas within the Recreation Department.
Bachelor’s degree required
Candidates must be proficient in using Microsoft programs (e.g., web design, excel, database and spreadsheets).
Computer Sciences or Information Technology experience preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of full-time, progressive professional experience

Work with OIT and Duke Athletics Director of IT to implement and maintain new Recreation Membership application.
Assist with any IT or computer issues users experience in their day-to-day operations (including but not limited to Duke-issued cell phones, department printers and workstations)
Setup & transfer new cell phones for users
Welcome & setup all new hires within the Recreation Department
Handle the disposal of all equipment that has reached its end of life in full compliance with Duke University’s policies
Manage the computer images & ensure that up-to-date images are stored properly
Have a working knowledge of emerging technologies as they develop
Have a good knowledge of Microsoft Exchange & Microsoft Active Directory
Have an understanding of how a network is structured
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Recreation Executive Director, Athletics Director of IT and OIT
