Assist in the coordination, promotion, implementation and evaluation of recreational activities in specialty program areas such as special events, active adult programs, special interest classes, youth and adult sports, facility rentals, youth and teen programs and aquatics. Assist with managing the pool including supervision of the facility and patrons (seasonally). Assist with data input and management related to facility rentals at the community center, ramada reservations, and field allocations for various user groups in the community. Oversee part-time and seasonal staff and monitor recreation facilities.
Position Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature that may be obtained with six-months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Community college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training. A minimum of 6 months experience in a related field, valid driver's license, CPR, and First-Aid certifications.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management or related field and possess at least 2 years of experience in the field of recreation. The successful candidate will have experience providing high levels of customer service to the community, volunteers, and staff. Excellent leadership, communication and technical skills is highly preferred. The ideal candidate must also be a team oriented individual and have the flexibility to help out in all areas of the division as needed.
