The Project Coordinator is responsible for specific projects involved in the planning, construction and maintenance of facilities. The Coordinator is a highly responsible position that works with little supervision to accomplish and support the accomplishment of specific tasks. This position requires a great deal of construction and maintenance experience to effectively carry out duties. Duties vary and can change but are aligned with the strategic goals of BREC's Planning and Engineering/CIP/Operations departments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Supports or conducts special projects as directed by Directors and Assistant Superintendent.
Ability to plan, organize, supervise and set priorities for work completion.
Considerable knowledge of construction, maintenance and repair.
Ability to learn computer programs and complete task on those programs in a timely fashion.
Ability to analyze and depict work schedules.
Strong interpersonal skills - ability to resolve conflict, trouble-shoot, foster a positive, productive team environment.
Ability to read and interpret simple to complex construction drawings and specifications.
Basic understanding of utility systems.
Assists in gathering data such as as-builts, GPS information, and site analysis information.
Plans, schedules and prioritizes work assignments to get maximum efficiency and keep departments aware of schedule.
Maintains a safe and highly productive work environment. Ensures that work meets quality standards as directed by policy, drawings and specifications.
DUCATION: Graduation from an accredited 4 year college or university
AREA OF STUDY: Planning, Construction and or maintenance related field.
LICENSE(s) REQUIRED: Valid LA Drivers License and
YEARS RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four years work experience in the field of construction and maintenance with two years in a supervisory capacity leading and directing a project.
OTHER JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
The desired candidate needs to be experienced in construction oversight and inspection;
be knowledgeable of site construction and building construction operations, means and methods;
knowledge of building codes; and have basic knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, structural systems, and building materials,
*8 years of full time work experience in the field of construction and maintenance may be substituted for the degree requirement.
