The National Recreation and Park Association is actively recruiting an Individual Giving Specialist for the individual giving initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association. It is a start-up that includes a simple premise—that parks belong to the people and that access to them and their protection are basic American values.
The Individual Giving Specialist reports directly to the Vice President of Individual Giving.
Administration: The Specialist will have primary responsibility for in-house individual giving program administrative functions such as processing all individual gifts, preparing appropriate donor acknowledgments, creating reports related to individual giving, maintaining the individual giving database and managing state registrations. This position will be the primary daily point of contact for individual giving 's interface with other NRPA departments especially Finance and Partner and Business Development.
Research: The Specialist will support activities to identify and engage individual donor prospects by conducting background research on individuals, drafting summary reports of this research, as well as, segmentation and analysis of lists of individuals.
Communications: The Specialist will assist with all individual giving related communications including e-newsletters, traditional mailings, website and social media in coordination with NRPA’s Marketing and Communications team. Events and Meetings: The Specialist will assist with, and often lead, the planning and execution of logistics related to individual giving events and meetings held across the country. Occasionally, travel may be required.

Salary Range: $40,000 - $45,000 NOTES: Local Residents Preferred (No Relo)
• B.A. degree or equivalent and a minimum of 2-4 years experience working in non-profit fundraising with individual donors; • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks; • Excellent initiative and the ability to be self-motivated; • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong interpersonal skills; • Strong knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. iMis and Adobe a plus; • Demonstrated experience of using social media outlets including Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter;
